Kamil Idris’ Work to Develop a Strong Sudan



Sudan has not been immune from the social and political conflict in Africa and the Middle East. As an advocate for peace, Kamil Idris was proud of the role and support his country showed to promoting peace and helping refugees. For years Kamil Idris’ role has been two-fold; he works to strengthen the Sudanese economy and works to develop peace in the region.

To strengthen the economy of Sudan, as well as other developing nations, Kamil Idris put a lot of focus on the role of intellectual property. Protecting the creativity and encouraging the growth of new ideas is what can drive development in a poorer nation. Kamil Idris’ work earned him numerous awards and medals from a number of developed and developing countries such as Sudan, Russia, and Saudi Arabia. 

Encouraging social development is also important to strengthening Sudan and neighboring regions. Kamil Idris pushes for the acceptance and protection of basic freedoms, human rights, and peaceful co-existence. Kamil Idris believes in development and the transfer of technology, education, and information. In 2010, Kamil Idris was awarded the Decoration of Loyalty and Gratitude of Omdurman National Broadcasting Station in Sudan.  In 2013, he was awarded the Decoration of the Syrian Revolution and the Decoration of Rashid Diab Cultural Center, in Khartoum, Sudan.

Kamil Idris believes a strong country is one where citizens feel safe and secure. In the past, he has helped raise funds for refugees in Africa and tries to help people in conflict due to cultural or religious differences. He works for the defense of Syrian people, the defense of rights and freedoms, and the reconciliation and religious co-existence through the Sudan Foundation.

Kamil Idris’ Academic Interests and Foreign Outreach



Kamil Idris is a man of international proportions. As early as his academic years he began traveling the world. Kamil Idris completed his Bachelor of Arts at the University Of Cairo, Egypt before completing his legal studies in Sudan. Kamil Idris traveled to the United States where he completed his master’s in international affairs before traveling to Switzerland to complete his doctorate in international law from the University of Geneva.

Kamil Idris’ interests have always been internationally based. If he isn’t looking at international law then he is studying economics or developing a plan for peace. An academic, lawyer, and peace activist, Kamil Idris is a strong advocate for international arbitration and economic development to create stability and social change. 

Language is said to be the key to understanding a culture. To get the best insight possible, Kamil Idris studied several foreign languages. He is fluent in Arabic, English, French, and has a good depth of knowledge to adequately converse in Spanish. 

Kamil Idris expanded his academic interests while working on his doctorate at the University of Geneva. He earned five separate certificates related to his international studies. Kamil Idris possesses an academic certificate for his interest in international economics, international history and political science, international law of development, the law of international waterways, and international law of financing and baking systems. 

Traveling the world for study and international work has taught Kamil Idris a great deal. To build a strong and peaceful world, Kamil Idris encourages peace, education, and the protection of intellectual property. Kamil Idris is working on a new theory of economic growth and macroeconomics.

Kamil Idris is World Recognized for Work in Intellectual Property



As the world develops and value is placed on the creation of ideas and intellectual property, the need to recognize and respect the intellectual creativity of others is necessary. People push to protect their ideas and creations by applying for patents, trademarks, and other forms of protection. However, the protection is only effective if it is respected on an international scale.

Kamil Idris remains devoted to intellectual property laws and protection. He sees the legal protection of intellectual property as a way to grow economies and encourage new designs and creations. He joined the World Intellectual Property Organization to make the process for applying for patents and trademarks easier but also to spread the importance of respect towards intellectual property and stop the stealing of peoples’ innovative ideas. 

Today, Kamil Idris is the former Director General of WIPO. Many countries awarded Kamil Idris for his work in intellectual property when he was one of the organization’s top figures of authority.  Awards and medals came from countries around the world and encouraged Kamil Idris to continue to fight for the protection of intellectual property and IP law.

In 2000, Kamil Idris was awarded the Silver Jubilee Medal of the Eurasian Patent Organization, presented by the President of the Eurasian Patent Office, Russian Federation. In 2000, he was awarded Egypt’s Distinguished Merit, presented by the Egyptian Supreme Council for Science and Technology and a Plaque from the Syrian Inventors’ Association by the Syrian Arab Republic. Other medals and awards have come from Romania, Mexico, Moldova, Poland, Sudan, Oman, and more.

Kamil Idris is an Academic



The importance of education to Kamil Idris cannot be understated. Every achievement, every award, and every position of leadership and authority held by Kamil Idris is a direct result of his academic attainment and expansion. As a student, Kamil Idris studied in Egypt, Sudan, the United States, and Switzerland. 

Kamil Idris has also been decorated for his research in economics and technology. In 1983, he was awarded the Scholars and Researches State Gold Medal, presented by the President of the Republic of Sudan. In 1985, Kamil Idris was awarded the Scholars and Researchers Gold Medal, presented by the President of the Academy of Scientific Research and Technology of Egypt. Other medals and awards came from Russia, Saudi Arabia, Portugal, Slovakia, and more.

Kamil Idris sees education as a fundamental part of growing society and national economy. Kamil Idris’ hope was to use education as a bridge to create international peace between the nations of Israel and Palestine. On several occasions, Kamil Idris brought youth together from both sides to teach and train in areas of peace.

Kamil Idris is a scholar, lawyer, international statesman, and an academic. He has a history as a teacher as well. In the past, Kamil Idris was a lecturer in philosophy and jurisprudence at the University of Cairo. He lectured in jurisprudence at Ohio University, and was an external examiner in international law and lecturer in intellectual property law at the University of Khartoum, in Sudan. At an international level, Kamil Idris has been a lecturer for regional and national seminars, workshops and symposia. He is also a professor of Law at Peking University in China.

Kamil Idris Pushes for a Stable Sudan



Kamil Idris has done much to help the African nation of Sudan. It is a country he hopes will one day prosper among the wealthiest of nations. Kamil Idris’ work representing Sudan has been decades in the making. As far back as the 1980s, Kamil Idris headed committees representing Sudan, the African Group, and the Group of 77. His positions of leadership were meant to strengthen the country of Sudan and other developing nations.

For his part, Kamil Idris has worked as a legal expert in a number of ministerial committees between Sudan and other countries. His works have been rewarded numerous times with awards, recognitions, and medals. Kamil Idris’ goal in developing a stable and successful Sudan is related to his goal of developing social peace and creating economic growth.

Kamil Idris also possesses experience in arbitration. He is a member of the Permanent Council of Arbitration which works to resolve conflicts between nations and intergovernmental organizations. His credentials and experience made him the perfect candidate to study and write about arbitration and the legislation of Sudan.

Kamil Idris continues to work in economics and law. He is a Professor of Public International Law at Sudan’s University of Khartoum. Kamil Idris is also a member of the Sudan Bar Administration and a Registered Advocate and Commissioner for Oaths in the Republic of Sudan. In 2010, Kamil Idris was a candidate for the Sudanese presidency. Kamil Idris continues to work towards peace and the development of a strong and stable society and economy for Sudan, African countries, and the Middle East.
