Kamil Idris has served in many different roles
during his decorated career. In each of them, Kamil Idris has done
everything possible to strengthen Sudan's position in the
international community and move Sudanese interests forward. As an expert on
international law, Kamil Idris has become a highly sought-after
advisor to assorted states and organizations. The understanding that
Kamil Idris brings helps those who delegate choose the best course on
which to direct their state.
Kamil Idris has served on multiple committees
within the United Nations, including the Legal Experts Committee of the
Organization of African Utility. This committee gave Kamil Idris an
opportunity to help shape international norms and interactions between various
states in the African theater. This position gave Kamil Idris ample
opportunity to push Sudan's
interests forward, and helped move the region towards stable interstate
interaction. The work that Kamil Idris put into this community has
paid off many times over. Kamil Idris' thesis on preferential trade areas and
the theory contained therein has led to the inspiration and establishment of
trade areas, in particular, in developing continents.
Kamil Idris has also represented Sudan's
interests outside of the United Nations General Assembly. At sessions of the
Trade and Development board in Geneva, Switzerland, Kamil Idris represented
not only Sudan
but the entire African Group and the Group of 77. This opportunity was an
excellent chance to help raise awareness of issues within the African Group and
the Group of 77 and acquire help in creating solutions from the rest of the
world's nations. Kamil Idris proved to be a valuable asset during
these negotiations and was an able representative.
