International Scholar: Kamil Idris



Kamil Idris was a student of several countries and an academic of multiple fields. Kamil Idris’ academic studies began in Egypt at the University of Cairo. It was there he completed his Bachelor of Arts, Division I with Honors. After Egypt, Kamil Idris returned to Sudan where he studied law. He graduated with his degree in Law with honors from the University of Khartoum. Kamil Idris also earned his diploma in public administration from the Institute of Public Administration Khartoum. He was in the school’s top division.

After studying in Sudan, Kamil Idris left the continent of Africa and continued his education in the United States. Kamil Idris was accepted to study at the University of Ohio where he completed his master’s in International Affairs. Once again, Kamil Idris was a high achieving student and was in the first class average.

Kamil Idris traveled internationally again for his PhD. Leaving the United States, he traveled to Europe where he was accepted to the Graduate Institute of International Studies at the University of Geneva, in Switzerland. Kamil Idris completed his PhD in International Law with distinction. His doctoral thesis was a “Case Study of the Treaty Establishing a Preferential Trade Area for Eastern and Southern African States.”

While studying at the University of Geneva, Kamil Idris expanded his academic interests and a completed academic certificates in International Economics, International History and Political Science, International Law of Development, the Law of International Waterways, and the International Law of Financing and Banking Systems.
