Kamil Idris is World Recognized for Work in Intellectual Property

As the world develops and value is placed on the creation of ideas and intellectual property, the need to recognize and respect the intellectual creativity of others is necessary. People push to protect their ideas and creations by applying for patents, trademarks, and other forms of protection. However, the protection is only effective if it is respected on an international scale.

Kamil Idris remains devoted to intellectual property laws and protection. He sees the legal protection of intellectual property as a way to grow economies and encourage new designs and creations. He joined the World Intellectual Property Organization to make the process for applying for patents and trademarks easier but also to spread the importance of respect towards intellectual property and stop the stealing of peoples’ innovative ideas.

Today, Kamil Idris is the former Director General of WIPO. Many countries awarded Kamil Idris for his work in intellectual property when he was one of the organization’s top figures of authority.  Awards and medals came from countries around the world and encouraged Kamil Idris to continue to fight for the protection of intellectual property and IP law.

In 2000, Kamil Idris was awarded the Silver Jubilee Medal of the Eurasian Patent Organization, presented by the President of the Eurasian Patent Office, Russian Federation. In 2000, he was awarded Egypt’s Distinguished Merit, presented by the Egyptian Supreme Council for Science and Technology and a Plaque from the Syrian Inventors’ Association by the Syrian Arab Republic. Other medals and awards have come from Romania, Mexico, Moldova, Poland, Sudan, Oman, and more.
